The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Question of the Week:

Why did you start your blog?

I started this blog after years of following other blogs reading reviews and getting book recs. I have this insane joy of reading and although I love my husband, he just looks at me like I am insane when I get going about a book. Some of my friends like to read like I do, but for the most part I feel like my passion for it is much higher than theirs. I love getting lost in the pages of a novel and having it play out like a movie in my head. Sometimes I feel as though I have this connection to some of the characters and I literally get upset when the story ends because I was not ready to let them go.. That sounds insane, but I am sure some of you will understand that.

I made this blog in the hopes of being able to share my thoughts with readers who have the same passion as I do for reading. I thought it would be a great way to make friends that share the same hobby as I do and who could understand my inner nerd :) I have grown to love this even though I have been doing it for such a short time. I have already made a few great friends and I think that is a bonus. One added thing I never even thought of when making this blog was the fact that I get to interact with authors as well. Lori Foster is one of my all time favorite authors and I can sit there on Twitter and talk with her! How freaking cool is that mess?!

So long ramblings made shorter - this was created to give me an outlet for my thoughts, as well as meet link minded people who share the same passions that I do for this amazing craft called books!

Thanks for stopping by!
Did you do the weekly blog hop?

  1. Great answer! I started mine to have a place to put reviews and had no idea what a great community I'd find and just how wonderful it'd be to have people to really talk books with. And the author interaction is so fun. One of my favorite authors followed me on a few different things and I about lost my mind with excitement!

    1. Isn't it crazy how utterly fan girl we get when small things like that happen?! I think its awesome we get to sit back and chat with authors we have been reading for YEARS!

  2. I LOVE your answer, Peyton!! I, too, am a passionate book lover, and I totally resonate with your reasons for starting your blog. Also, I can relate to having a husband who reacts the way yours does when you start fangirling over a book. Mine doesn't understand, either, as he doesn't read at all, except for short articles online. Lol. Needless to say, he's not into collecting books, either, like I am!

I agree that interacting with authors is great, as well! There's one writer of paranormal romance whom I've 'chatted' with on Twitter a couple of times. Her name is Amanda Ashley. I LOVE several of her vampire romance novels! But mostly, it's other book bloggers whom I love to interact with. It's a truly GREAT experience!!

Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my own BBH post!! :)

  4. Wonderful answer, and welcome to the Book Blogger Hop.

    Nice blog.

I started my blog to chat about books, but the best part now that it is going on six years is meeting other bloggers. :)

No one in my family loves reading like I do or loves to discuss.

ENJOY your weekend, and Happy Hopping!!

  5. A great answer! I know exactly how you feel! It is only on the internet and the blogging communtiy that I feel as though I have finally met people who actually like books and aren't just saying it because they have to.

  6. I had no idea there were so many other book blogs out there when I started. I thought I was a lone voice. Then I "discovered" the blogging community and my entire world changed. :-)

It has been fun "talking" to authors in a way I wouldn't have otherwise.

Thank you for sharing your story! I hope you have a great week!

  8. That's a wonderful reason to start. My mother was a reader too but since she passed away no one else in my family gets my reading obsession.
    Have a great week!
